Roly Poly rollin'

The little roly poly started rolling over this week.  He did it once the day we came home from the beach, but then not really again until Friday and now he can't stop!! :)  Champs was never a big roller, so this is new to us.  I swear Champs never really did much rolling until he started crawling at 9 months.

Swimming Lessons

Champs had his first round of swimming lessons the week before the beach.  I wouldn't call them wildly successful, but it did get him used to going under and learning to hold his breath.  I think I'll still keep him in swimmies for this summer and make next summer our big summer for truly learning how to swim! We did lessons at the same time as his best buddy James, which helped them to get excited about them.  Champs would act like he was thrilled about the lessons each day until he was actually in the water!  There were a lot of tears and "I want my Mommy!!!!" Haha - oh well, guess we all have to start somewhere with learning how to swim!  He must have gotten something out of it though b/c he loved "going under" in the ocean and in the little inflatable pool we took to the beach!

My Birthday Weekend!

I had a great birthday weekend which happened to also be Memorial Weekend!  My birthday is May 30 which was that actual Memorial Day.  All my boys spoiled me and made me feel so special!  We started the long weekend at the zoo on that Friday.  I took Evers (our summer sitter) with us so she could help with Jack!  We tried out the new splash pad at the zoo for the first time - it was so nice and a lot of fun! We had cookouts at our house both Saturday and Sunday night and then went to a friends house on Monday for a pizza party!
