Weekend with Che & Poppy in PI

While Barrett and I headed to Greenville for a fun wedding weekend of two friends, Champs went to Pawleys for a long weekend with my parents.  I cannot describe how excited he was on Friday morning knowing the day was here for him to go to the beach.  We had been talking about it for a few days and he was GIDDY he was so excited.  The only downfall was when he realized I was dropping him off at school Friday morning.  He didn't want to go to school - he was ready to go straight to the beach.  He finally calmed down when I told him he'd just stay through lunch and then they would be there to pick him up!!

It was so much fun to get pics and videos of them throughout the weekend.  It sounds like he truly had a blast!  I had a work event on Sunday afternoon, so he actually stayed all the way through Monday afternoon.  Boy was I ready to see him by then!!!

Saturday was my mom's birthday, so Champs was also really excited about that!!  Both b/c he loves his Che, but also because to him a birthday means one thing....cupcake!!  Here are some of the pics and videos I got over the weekend.

Push up pop at country store on way to beach!
Grilled cheese and tator tots in my jammies!
Snugglin with his best friends.
Life is good.

Lovin the beach life.

They said he loved rocking!

Look what they rented for the week!!
One last morning at the beach before heading home!

Father's Day

Champs was a little under the weather for Father's Day this year, so we didn't do a whole lot.  He started running fever on Sat night, so we just stayed around the house on Sunday.

Champs had made lots of special things for Barrett at school the week leading up to Father's day and was so excited to give them to him.  We were already downstairs when Barrett got up and as soon as Barrett came down the stairs, Champs jumped up and grabbed all the cards and art he had made his Daddy.  It was pretty adorable!

Sandra and Ronnie were here keeping Champs while we had a wedding the night before, so we had breakfast together the next morning for Father's Day!  We had quiche, fresh fruit and Ally & Eloise cinnamon rolls!

Sunday night we had my parents over for a Father's Day cookout supper!

NOT into the family photo.

For dinner we had Asisan Sesame steak kabobs, summer vegetable chopped salad, mini tomato pies & strawberry/blueberry shortcake with whipped cream.  My dessert fell apart, but was still pretty tasty!

I am so blessed for all 3 fathers I have in my life!!  My Daddy has been the most wonderful example of a father I could have ever asked for.  Barrett has made me more proud and happy in watching him be a father to Champs than anything I could have ever hoped for.  Ronnie is the sweetest father-in-law to me and treats me just like a daughter!  I am very lucky and oh so thankful for all of them!!

5 Years!

Barrett and I celebrated our 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY last Friday!  A whole hand full.  He and I were talking over the weekend and saying how our wedding day seems both like a flash ago and a lifetime ago at the same time!  When I think of all we've done in 5 years....new house, new baby, new car, some new friends, fun trips, games, dinners, etc etc etc.....then it does seem like a lifetime ago.  Mostly, I am just so thankful I have him by my side to go through life with, for he is a darn good husband and wonderful father!  I feel so very thankful he's mine!

I love you, Barrett!  This spring/early summer has turned out to be quite busy and full of weddings and other fun committments which left us without much time to celebrate our anniversary this year.  I am already planning a trip in 2016 for SIX years!!

Here we are in Bowman last Friday for a Rehearsal Dinner of friends.

And b/c it's fun to go back once/year and look at wedding pics and relive it for a few minutes!!

Burley Beach Week

We were in Garden City Beach week before last with the Burley/Boone crowd and it was wonderful!!  The weather was PERFECT.  It was mid 80's during the day and then around 70 at night - glorious.  Champs had a big time seeing cousins and aunts he doesn't get to see often, lots of great time with KK and Boo, and playing on the beach!  We also visited Brookgreen Gardens one morning and did the Zoo they have there.  Was a great adventure and good break from the sunny beach for a day.  It was so much fun to be together with family for a whole week!

Here are some (read: way too many) pics from the week.
