Halloween Party in Bishopville

One of my friends from home has a Halloween party every year the Sunday before Halloween.  It's always the same time as our church Trunk-or-Treat, so we didn't go last year because we went to church, but it worked out that we were in Bishopville this year on Sunday, so we went to my friends party! Champs was a fireman for this Halloween event!  He loved the hayride, but more than anything he loved "driving" on the tractor that later pulled the hayride!!  Let me add that Champs has a cold since last weekend so he was a bit subdued for him at this party!  I had never seen him so quiet!!

Boo at the Zoo

Champs and I went to Boo at the Zoo last week with some friends.  Barrett was out of town for work, so he didn't get to go with us.  I had bought Champs 2 costumes to try for Halloween at TJ Maxx a few weeks ago but ended up keeping both.  Hey we're going to have 2 boys - I think a few boy costumes are definitely needed!  We went with the dinosaur for Boo at the Zoo b/c it was supposed to be chilly!

SC State Fair

We will plan better next year for the fair.  We will plan better next year for the fair.  That was repeated for emphasis....phew!  We checked our calendars and really could only go on one night the whole time it was in town.  It was last Thursday.  Barrett had a 1:00pm hearing and didn't even get out til 5pm.  Champs and I went ahead and headed that way and said we'd meet him there.  Traffic was HORRIBLE.  Barrett coincidentally ended up about 15 cars behind us on Assembly which was really pretty amazing.  Still - we probably didn't walk in the fair until 6pm - way too late to be getting started with a 2 year old.  Champs was actually great -he loved every minute of it - but we were dying at the crowds, lines and just overall feel of the fair with it getting dark soon after we got there.  Oh and I'm leaving out, we realized upon getting to the ticket counter - it was $1 admission night - definitely not what we were looking for since this made it extra crowded!!

Despite all this, Champs LOVED the rides and wanted to ride everything he saw.  There were some height restrictions that didn't allow him to ride some things, but he did get to ride the train, dump trucks, firetruck, slide and carousel!  The slide was probably his favorite - he did that with Barrett 3 times!  He would get very frustrated with the line process and wanted to do everything immediately and again, immediately!

It was so chaotic that I didn't really take that many pics (for me!).

Fair food is definitely my favorite part of the fair.  I got most of my favorites this year, but didn't get fried mushrooms, which I love.  I'm the only one who likes them of the 3 of us, so I figured I'd pass on them.  I had a corn dog, Fiske fries and we all shared a bag of the mini cinnamon sugar donuts.  I hadn't tried these before and they were delicious!!!

As you can see Champs had a piece of pizza, a bite or two of my corn dog and some of the donuts.  I think he's definitely a fan of the fair!  I can only imagine how much fun he'll have next year.  Next year we WILL be there by 3pm and gone by 7!!
