Weekend scenes

We had such a great weekend!  We basically had zero plans, which was awesome!  Friday night after getting Champs down, Barrett and I grilled some yummy burgers topped with pancetta, gorgonzola cheese, and sauteed mushrooms & onions! We had some homemade sweet potato fries, a major go-to at our house, with the burgers.

Saturday morning we headed to the Zoo.  This was our 2nd time going and we did some different stuff this time than we did last time.  Champs rode the carousel for the first time!

Deciding if he liked it!
He did, but held on tight to Barrett!
We fed the giraffes!

What an amazing looking animal!
And Champs and Barrett rode the train!
They looked so cute on the train!
Hey buddy!

Pointing at the tiger!

Another beautiful animal! And he looks ready for football season!
I didn't let Barrett have all the fun!  I had fun with the monkey too!

Lunch break!
Touching the goats!

It was a fun morning at the zoo!  It was great seeing how much more Champs took in this time than a couple of months ago when we went.  That afternoon, we went to the pool with the Boyers!  Champs loved playing with the cute girlies!

Sunday morning Joan and I were texting and realized we were both planning to do sailor suits for church.  We had to get a pic of all the cousins together!!

I had some funny videos to post, but I keep getting error messages!  I will try again tomorrow!

Few things to note from the weekend, etc....
  • Champs is FINALLY saying Mamamamama and I THINK he knows it's me!
  • He can climb the entire flight of stairs in our house very quickly, so the baby gate is there to stay for a while!
  • We only have 3 more weeks with Nanny Pat and James and this makes me so so sad!  She has been SUCH a blessing to our family!  Champs will be starting at Eastminster Day School in mid August and I know will miss them both so very much.
  • In just under 3 weeks my BABY will be ONE.  How is this possible?  I know, all mothers say this, but truly - time is FLYING!!

11 Months Old!

Just writing the words 11 months old feels crazy as we all know what comes next.  I can barely even think about him being 11 months b/c we are so close to ONE and I truly cannot believe it!  But for now, I will try to focus on what he is doing now - at ELEVEN months old!

This past month Champs has gotten even more on the go, though still not walking.  He stands all the time and looks very stable, but doesn't have interest in taking steps just yet.  He can cruise all around furniture too.  He is so vocal - I can't understand what he's saying yet, but boy does he have a lot to say!

He loves pointing, clapping, doing his finger back and forth over his lips to make the funny noise (try it - you know what i'm talking about!), reading his books (especially Pat the Bunny and Where's Spot), drinking his milk from his cup, riding in his car and so much more!  He has gotten a little more clingy this past month, though this week not as much as last!  He does love his Mama, though he just cannot figure out how to say Mama.   We hear a lot of Dadadadada though! :)  He has started liking to play with a ball these last couple of weeks.  We throw/roll is back to each other.  He also just learned how to "high-five"!

He really is so funny.  He makes us laugh constantly and we could just watch him all the time.  He is very responsive to people - both his family/friends and new people.  He loves to smile and laugh and show them his tricks.

These pictures will show you that he is definitely on the move nonstop, as I could barely even get any that he wasn't in motion!

Oh man, these pics again?
I'm not even going to look.
One smile and maybe she'll stop.
She really is pretty funny.
Oh hey, Sammy.
I really love you Sammy.
Funny if you think we're starting all over in here now.
11 months people - it's a wrap!
Weight: Around 23lbs is my guess - he feels heavy!!
Height: Not sure - maybe around 31in
LOVES: Pulling up and standing, cruising around furniture, pointing, playing peek-a-boo!
NEW THINGS: Clapping, Pointing, more "words".  He also has begun to have a little temper tantrum in him.  Take something away or change his diaper when he doesn't feel like it - red faced, throwing the head back, crying.  Oh my - what do we have ahead?!?
EATS: 3 meals a day now consisting of all table food.  He is doing great with his sippy cup and now drinking morning, lunch, supper and all snacks with milk in sippy cup.  Still has his nighttime bottle though.
SLEEP: Champs has pretty much moved to 1 nap a day at noon that last 2 to 3 hours.  We started this b/c this is what he will do at Eastminster when he starts there next month.  And is sleeping through the night!
TEETH: His top two teeth have come down more.  They have a huge gap in between them just like mine did :)  They look quite large too - hopefully will grow into them?!

He is a very sweet, loving, funny boy and I am getting so excited to celebrate his 1st Birthday!!!

Bdays, Tomatoes and Baptisms

We've been busy this week!  Champs turned 11 months old, but I've yet to take those pics, so will try to do that and write that post early this week.  Until then, here's a look at some of what we've been up to lately.

We celebrated Kelly's birthday on Monday with some pizza by the lake at Joan's house!
Birthday girl with her sweet baby Will!
Baby Julia is walking!
Champs was a little sleepy at the bday party!
Bollin and Barrett rocking!
Pizza picnic
Bringing Kelly her bday cupcakes!

After dinner boat ride!
We went to the Tasty Tomato Festival on Saturday afternoon.  We were dodging rain, but it ended up being a great afternoon and Champs had a ball.  This is a fun event in town!

Playing with his buddy James at the Festival.
Giggling away!

Friends at Tomato Festival! Wish we had gotten a pic with all, but here's who was around when we took it!

Taking cover during a quick drizzle.
Charlie loves to eat Champs' puffs.
Found a water bucket - happy boy!

Sweet boy!

Delicious tomato sandwiches!
Sunday, we attended precious Mac's baptism followed by lunch at the Lindsay's.  It was a perfect day.  Sweet Mac did great in church and we celebrated with a delicious lunch afterwards!
