Here are some phrases he says A LOT!
** "Tell me".....The context he says this is like this:
Me - "Champs do you know where we are going today?"
C - "yeah" (he always answers yeah first)
Me - "where?"
C - "Tell me." (in the sweetest little voice)
He says this a lot different ways, but basically he says it all the time. It's like he's so interested to know everything!
** "Again" - I've probably said this one before, but he still loves to say "again!" when he likes what somebody is saying or doing and he usually has a big grin on his face while doing so.
** "That's a good idea!"
** "I am proud to be an American!" They say the Pledge of Allegiance every morning at school during circle time followed by singing of "I am proud to be an American" and he LOVES it. He says it all the time, especially if he sees ANY type of flag, American one or not!
** "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" is still on repeat too. Getting better at it too - singing the whole song with animal sounds! He also calls any "farmer" we see in a book or any of his toys "Farmer Pete" for Mr. Pete Player. Mr. Pete had him out to the farm this summer and he got to ride on the tractor and he has not forgotten. He even talks about "Farmer Pete's wife"...."Miss A-rie"! :)
** "I love you Mommy" being said totally spontaneously and it is heaven to my ears!! Oh little boy of mine, you have no idea how much your mommy (and Daddy) love you!!!
** He loves to say phrases that others say to him. For example, he will say to me "Hey my boo boo bear" b/c that's what I say to him. To Barrett he will say "There's my buddy!" b/c Barrett says that to him. It's pretty funny. He takes in EVERYTHING we say and never forgets. Just this morning he said something I said to him last week one time. He was eating breakfast and he said "That fireman was so sweet." which is what I said about the fireman at the Devine St fire station who let us drive his fire truck!
He loves his friends and school so much now. It makes it so much fun when he is so eager to go to school and talks about his friends and teachers all the time. Here are a few pics of his class from lately, Halloween and of he and one of his best buddies, Townsend. He is telling me some mornings at like 7:15 that he's ready to go to school! haha I don't take him then, but I sure love that he's so excited to go!
And how sweet is this of the kids singing their blessing together?! They had already done it a few times when I got my phone out, so Champs was a little over it by here!
Champs is FINALLY into TV. Why do I seem excited about this you may ask? B/c I have a new baby coming in T-Minus 11 weeks and I need him to be able to sit down and watch a show or two so I can feed baby, etc!! :) So far he loves one show and one show only, but he loves it BIG TIME. Can you say Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!! He loves all the characters and of course his favorite is Pete. Since Pete isn't one of the main. main ones - anytime he doesn't see Pete, he's asking where Pete is!
A little Mickey Mouse supper the other night! |
- The Clemson Tigers are #1 in the country!!! I don't know how long it will last, but I am living in the moment and ENJOYING it! I am so proud of our team and coaches - they have a special thing going and it is so fun to be a part of it. I had a total out of body moment on Saturday during the FSU/Clemson game. I was standing in our seats - the same seats I've sat in since I was 3 years old and started going to games with my parents - and we were all cheering and waiting for the buses to come around the stadium so the team can run down the hill - and it just felt surreal thinking of how many times I had done this very same thing, but this time - we are #1 - the team everyone is watching. It's pretty incredible. I absolutely loved this article about our coach - he's amazing! Go Dabo, Go Tigers - let's keep it going!!!

- My Uncle Bill, my dad's brother, has been so sick these past couple of weeks and I just want to put it out there that we are all rooting for you to get back to 100% very soon. He spent almost a week in ICU and then almost another week in a regular hospital room. He is a big follower of my blog and has always been so sweet to Champs. He has given Champs some of his most favorite books and a puppy dog t-shirt that Champs LOVES to wear to sleep in! Champs now says "He got on that school bus with me." when we talk about Uncle Bill b/c last time we were in Bishopville, after the flood, Bill came with us to the park and sat on the big school bus there that Champs so loves. So from all of us, GET WELL UNCLE BILL!
Christmas 2014 |
- We finally are getting our house straight after the flood. We have new flooring down - we actually went with a pretty, neutral looped carpet. It has the same look in color as seagrass (what we had before) but is so much more comfortable. We thought we had salvaged our furniture that was down there, but we found out after bringing it back in after the carpet was installed that we had not - so we just ordered some new things yesterday and it should be in the day after Thanksgiving! I am really looking forward to this room and know we'll be spending a lot of time down there with our 2 boys this winter/spring!!
- Thanksgiving is 2 weeks away and Christmas is 6! WHOA. I have so much to do. The ONLY thing I am on the ball about is my Christmas card. We took our pics Labor Day and my card is designed and ordered! Champs has been talking about what he wants from Santa for weeks now. It's a pretty big gift, so he probably won't get much more. "Santa's gonna bring me a gator tractor." I may or may not be using this as leverage...."Santa checks in with your teachers Champs to see if you're being a good listener!"
Okay, that was way too long and I don't blame you if you didn't reach the end! Until next time...!
