Mid October happenings

It's hard to believe one of my very favorite months of the year is almost half way over.  Still plenty of time for more pumpkins, hay rides, yummy soups, candy pumpkins, Oktoberfest beers, mums and all that October and November bring! To be honest, it's time for the weather to cool down so it will feel a little more fall like.  We had the nice tease of fall a few weeks ago but it's been back in the 80's for too long!  It's coming though - this weekend looks glorious and I cannot wait!

Things are good at our house.  Champs will be 14 months on Thursday, which is just nuts to me.  I know all moms say that, but goodness gracious time really does just fly now that I have a little one.

He is starting to be able to do a little run/walk and it's pretty funny to see.  He is saying so many words and I just love to hear him.  He loves spotting "dogs" and "trucks" when we're out and about.  He is trying so hard to say pumpkin and it sounds sort of like "un-kinnnnn".  And he loves to find, hold and throw a ball.  All boy!!  He has been doing the sweetest little kiss where he'll lean his head in and press his mouth on you and says "ummmm".  We went to the doc last week so I got a weight check - he's just under 24 pounds.  He is loving Monk as much as ever.  I ordered 2 new monkeys to have on hand so I could wash his favorite one a little more often.  Well of course, Champs being Champs, knows instantly when I try to give him one of the fake Monk's and wants nothing to do with it.  Now I am straight up showing him when Monk has to take a bath and putting him in washing machine!

Champs is really loving school these days and it makes me so happy/relieved.  Most days when I get there to pick him up he's of course very happy to see me, but that panic/take me home now look is gone.  He's excited to show me what he's playing with and waves and tells everyone bye-bye as we leave.

My favorite thing he started doing a week or so ago is holding up that one little pointer finger when I say, "Champs, how old are you?"  I love it!

Peachy and Poppy picked Champs up from school last Thursday for an afternoon of fun!!  They went to the Zoo, to 32 Degrees for fro yo and a late night (for Champs) trip to Publix.  I was starting to think they had forgotten where my house was when they pulled in with my baby about 7:15!  He had a great day with them.

Here are some other pics from recently.....

My pumpkin with my other pumpkin.

Sweet moment - we were taking pics when Barrett pulled in and his little face lights up!
Took my camera with us on our wagon ride in neighborhood because the lighting was so pretty!
Sweet boy
Spotted someone with a ball.
Had to go check it out.
Thanks to this sweet neighbor for letting him attempt to throw it to you.

Make her stop!!!!
Ms Pat took Champs to the pumpkin patch on Saturday while I had to work.
Lots more fun adventures ahead in these next couple weeks for Champs and I can't wait to share!
