Burley Beach Week

We spent last week in Garden City with Barrett's family.  It was the best week with family and fun in the sun.  Besides a quick one day fast paced tropical storm on Monday, the weather was GORGEOUS!!  Since my parents are renovating their beach house in Pawleys (and the fact we had a baby in January), we hadn't been to the beach since Labor Day!!  It was a great week filled with so many laughs, golf cart rides, beach time, (inflatable) pool time, lots of treats and snacks we don't normally eat and wonderful time with family we don't see near enough!

Champs is finally at the age he LOVED the beach.  He stayed for hours and hours at a time and had a ball "jumping the waves" as he says and building sand castles!  Jack did okay in short increments but I felt like he shouldn't be out there more than 2 hours a day since he's so little!  Between all of us though, we could rotate who was upstairs with him so it worked out nicely. 

Champs got to sleep in a bunk bed this year and he thought it was awesome, despite falling out twice!  He also had his first "summer love!"  It was adorable.  He met this cute girl on the beach and they had the best time playing, laughing and jumping waves.  By the end, they were holding hands. Pretty funny!!

We went to dinner at the Litchfield Fish House and Champs loved it.  They have a pirate ship for kids to play on outside and the owner gives the kids a pirates hat and sharks tooth necklace "if they have nice manners and eat their supper!"  I'm all about some bribery if it gets Champs to eat!!
