Easter Saturday

Easter Saturday was a day of Egg Hunts.  It was such a nice day, so was perfect for being outside and hunting some eggs.  Saturday morning, I took Champs out to Lake Carolina for the Egg Hunt out there.  Luckily we partner with a local church on this event, so I wasn't actually working this one, but just attending!

Wouldn't sit with the Bunny by himself, so Mommy had to join.
Saturday afternoon, we had a really fun egg hunt down the street at the Dowdy's.  It was so fun to
get together with neighbors and play.

Headed to Egg Hunt!

After a yummy chocolate pudding, it's time to head home!!

Tulips

My mom took Champs to see the beautiful tulips at Trenholm Road Methodist Church earlier this week and I just knew I had to take him back with my camera b/c they are so pretty!!  He loved them and loves saying the word "tulip"!  I just love how they have these every year at Easter.

Here's a little Champs/tulip overload!!

Good Friday!

It's been a great weekend.  The weather was beautiful, azaleas and dogwoods are blooming, and we had some fun Easter things planned for Champs.  Now if we could just get rid of this darn pollen then all would be right in the world.  Okay not really, but it would sure make me happy.

Friday was the last day of Champs' Spring Break and I "had" to stay home with him b/c my helpers weren't available.  It was such a nice day so I was excited to spend it mostly outside with Champs!   I was also very thankful he took a longgg nap so I was able to keep up with my emails and work, etc!

We visited Townsend in the morning and the Boyer girls in the afternoon.  I was out of space on my phone when we were at Joan's and I so hate it b/c the girls and Champs were playing in their water hose having a blast and Champs was in nothing but his diaper.  It was an unplanned play date and even more unplanned that we'd be getting wet, so we had to make-do, and it was so much fun!

Here are some pics from Friday's shenanigans!

Early morning building in jammies and boots.

Reading with Townsend.

Snack time!
Knock knock.
Love these boys!

Playing in our neighborhood with mommy.
Helping some neighbors out with their vegetable garden, though they don't know it.

I forgot to add that Good Friday ended with a fun date for us!  We went to Cola's downtown and had a great meal.  We sat at the window, which they had open and it felt amazing!!

Champs funnies....

Started this post a few days ago and never finished!  Here's some random thoughts for me to always be able to remember about Mr. Champs around 19 months.

Very into the Easter Bunny and Easter eggs!!

 - When I told him this morning I had a surprise for him and that someone was waiting downstairs on him to play with him all day, he guessed the following: Daddy (no, he was already gone to work), Aunt Joan, and then Dr. Williard.  Glad he would be excited if he got to spend the day with his pediatrician.

- Towel and Bath.  Champs is loving talking about taking his "bath" now and grabbing his "towel."  He likes to carry his own towel from his room to the bathroom and put it on top of the toilet like he sees us doing.  He still likes to sit right under the faucet and wants the water running the entire bath.

- Monkey see - monkey do: It's so funny now watching him imitate little things that we do.  Just like above example, he also starting beating the pillows on the porch last night just like he had seen Barrett do on Sunday when we were getting ready for the baby shower.  Guess that's why he also wants real keys and wants to hold our phones.  Wish he would take after me and EAT more food options.

- So I can remember this....at 19 months I am having such trouble getting him to branch out much with food.  He refuses most all fruit these days, as well as most vegetables.  He eats mostly chicken, yogurt, cheese, crackers and pasta.  He does like quacemole and peas occasionally.  I sure hope his pickyness gets better soon, because this drives me CRAZY!!!

- It absolutely amazes me all the words he knows.  When we read books and I ask him what things are he blows me away with all he knows.  But...on the other hand, colors seem to be much harder to grasp.  He pretty much answers yellow to anything I ask what color it is, yellow or any other color.  Except for pink - he knows and loves that color, much to his Daddy's dismay.

- Along the same lines it's interesting how he knows ALLLL of his family's names and associates certain things with them.  But at the end of a day that he may have been with my mom or with Pat or KK and  I ask who he played with today....he says Annie, Emmy and/or Ivey every time!! haha

Oh he does make me laugh so much!!
